I have bought the Christmas advent letters for the last two years for 3 wee ones, and I can’t wait to get them again this year. The letters themselves are so special, typed on paper that intrigues the children when they know its origin. Then there are the illustrations, which I love to colour a little or add some glitter to. Finally there is the thrill of the correspondence itself. These wee ones remember the locations and characters and refer to the map they receive, to work out the location of the different settings they read about. There are wonderful moments each day in December as they search for Elfie’s letter, which is always in a different place.
To keep the fun alive through the year, they each receive a birthday letter, which they enjoy immensely.
This has definitely become a tradition which I love hearing about and they love experiencing.
