Storylines for Christmas 2021
Written by Christmas Elves from the North Pole (who borrow Father Christmas’ computer!) these Advent letters bring to life a magical world where, as the Big Delivery approaches, the excitement gets the better of everyone and everything, including hilarious inventions, pranks, muddles and mix-ups! Read all about the crazy fun the Elves had with the Bubble Bushes and Father Christmas travelling at Hypersonic speeds with his Automatic Squirty Cream Dispenser.
Be the first to find out about an amazingly magical event which brings some incredibly tall visitors. Get to know a newbie Elf with a strange name (what does J.D. stand for?) and hear what happens at the Camping Picnic Party. And discover the mystery behind the secret door and who's been calling Grandpa Elf with a bunch of cryptic clues. Follow the Elves' adventures when the North Pole snow starts to disappear (and The Sleigh can't take off!) while everything else gets covered in Extra-Glittery Glitteriness and Sticky Marshmallows.
And make your mouths water with tales of delicious snacks like Jingle Pops, Snowball Sparkles and Chocolate Glitter Pancakes. And, as ever, be ready to help the Elves bring back the snow with oodles of kindness and Christmas Spirit.
Sneaky peek at some of the Christmas Elf letters from the North Pole in this Christmas 2021 Advent Calendar:
... is a Christmas Elf who loves pranks, inventions, experiments and sweets, and is always up to something. And this year's no exception! He’ll do anything to avoid hard work. Or any work ... ideally while eating vast quantities of candy. The question is … will his latest invention, a Supersonic Snowball Blaster, work out as he hopes??
... is a Christmas Elf who's a total whizz at computers, and is super cool. After a series of rather serious delivery mishaps, she’s just installed a totally Mega-Whizzy X-ray Machine, so the Delivery Elves can see inside each package without unwrapping them. So far, they’ve used it to look inside a Cherry Pie, Nosy the rabbit, the Extra-Heavy Parcel Weighing Scales and a tangerine …
Brain Brian Brain
... is the trainee Chef for Mother and Father Christmas! He's a rather forgetful Christmas Elf and gets into a terrible muddle with his words. He decides to make some Christmas Star Cookies. Desperate not to mess it all up and forget what he's meant to be doing, he mutters away to remind himself ... but with a rather 'interesting' result. The other Elves love him!
... being the most organised Christmas Elf in the North Pole, she's started one of her infamous “Important Lists” to help make sure the Elves get everything done in time for Christmas Eve. Apparently there have been issues with Elves turning up late to sing the North Pole Anthem each morning (facing extra reindeer mucking out duty) and parking sledges very carelessly ... but that's not all! We can only hope all the Elves read the noticeboard ...
... is the Christmas Elf that comes to the rescue whenever the other Elves get themselves into a pickle. And what exactly does J.D. stand for? Rarely having 5 minutes to herself, J.D. is always busy untangling Elves, sorting out reindeer-poo pongs, and dealing with Elves who get too close to the Sparkle-Puffer ...
... is the Chief Miner in the Cinnamon Mine (and a Christmas Elf who's particularly good at drawing). The Mining Elves get to make something incredibly important, and rare, this year ... the BIG question is, will it pass the Toasting Marshmallows Test?
Dave The Stitch
... works in Pine Needle Lodge, and has the very important job of making Father Christmas' Christmas Eve uniform each year! Keen for The Big Delivery to go as smoothly as possible, he's decided to add some important extras including, amongst other things ... an Invisibility Disappearing Evaporator (in case Father Christmas gets seen by a child), a GPS (Gigantic Parcel Sorter) and a Pressie Duplicator!
Why Christmas Traditions Are Important
The Christmas season is full of the most magical moments. It's the perfect time for family to get together, share the mutual happiness of this joyful time of year, and create strong and lasting memories for years to come. And there's no better way to start the Christmas magic than to rekindle some Family Christmas traditions. They may be from your own childhood or even using the same style of Advent Calendar you had when you were growing up. Perhaps it's new to you, such as our Christmas Elf Letter tradition, perhaps you've read about a wonderful Christmas Tradition that you'd like to replicate in your own home. Whatever the reason, you can rest assured any Christmas tradition is sure to be loved and remembered by all the family - especially the children.
Family time and Christmas traditions
Christmas traditions help to bring us together as a family. They make our children feel safe as part of a loving group, and they are happier and healthier for it, both in body and mind. During the Christmas season, the routines and rituals are extra special because they only come round once a year. Whether it's reading aloud a special Christmas story together, opening the windows or eco-friendly elf letters of an Advent Calendar - or writing some Christmas poems to go inside the Christmas cards ... or cosying up on the sofa with that reading book that only comes out at this particular time of year. The countdown to Christmas is full of magical experiences - so much more valuable than the presents - bringing together friends and family and giving everyone a sense of warmth, comfort and belonging.
We deliver Christmas Magic directly from Christmas Elves in the North Pole, straight to your door in a well-disguised parcel ... for a most magical December!
Any day before the 1st December:
Deliver the Certificate and the Map of the village in the North Pole somewhere around your home for the children to discover ... this lets the children know they've been selected to receive these magical letters.
Either roll them together into a scroll and tie the Candy Cane cord, keep them flat, or pop them into one of your personalised envelopes!
You can purchase Extra Maps if you'd like more.
From the 1st December onwards ...
Deliver a new Advent letter each day, up to and including Christmas Eve (dated as they need to be read in order to make sense of the story).
If your children write to the Elves hoping for a specific reply to their questions, you can deliver the Emergency letter from Mother Christmas with the next magical delivery.
On Christmas Eve Night
After the children have gone to bed and Christmas Stockings have been hung ... the next two letters are your Personalised Letter from Father Christmas or Santa Claus (new each year!) and a Feedback Form from Father Christmas from the Sleigh's 'In-Flight Notebook', for you to complete, for your child(ren) to discover on Christmas morning! What did Father Christmas think about the drink and snack you all left out for him? Burpingly delicious? Snoozy making? What fun!
Any time from Christmas Day Night onwards ...
Deliver your last letter, which tells you all about what happened in the North Pole on Christmas Day, and ties in a few loose ends from this year's story!
We hope you have so much fun with your letters this year - and keep an eye out on your inbox for news of next year's edition. The letters change each year, with brand new stories and illustrations!
