Friends and family have of course all been brilliant. My sister Katie was fantastic and very patiently edited the earlier versions of Elfie’s Christmas Letters without laughing, giving me sound advice and the confidence to keep going with the idea. By the way, Katie and her husband Johnny have just taken over a cosy hotel overlooking Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye with their sausage dog, Fritz; fabulous views and a guaranteed warm welcome if anyone fancies going that way.
