Christmas Elf Advent Letters Tradition

Our Christmas Elf Advent letters tradition is the original Elf letter Advent Calendar. Elfie's Christmas Letters have been bringing joy to families all over the world since 2012, whether or not they have a visiting Christmas Elf . Each day through December, on the Countdown to Christmas, children discover a personalised advent letter from a Christmas Elf mysteriously around their home. These magical eco-friendly advent letters from the Elves bring the latest updates from the North Pole, with news of the preparations for the big Christmas Eve delivery, Father Christmas (or Santa Claus ) ... each day there's a new Elf letter to discover and a magical tale unfolds with each day through Advent. Which Christmas Elf will the letter be from this time?

The family member in charge of the Christmas Elf letter delivery for that day (mum, Dad, sibling, neighbour ...) 'delivers' the Elf letter wherever is most magical. One day the Christmas Elf letter may be sticking out of a shoe, or peeking out of the cereal box - or stuck behind the toothbrushes! It's impossible to know where it will turn up next. Some children have found their Elf letter in the Christmas tree where others have found a letter from the Elf in their fridge, on top a yoghurt!

You can have your Christmas Elf letters addressed to your children and your Elf but not from your Elf ... there are a few important Christmas magic related reasons why we don’t offer it!

One of the reasons each signature is done by hand and not computer generated. The Elf signature is actually part of the artwork. To hand sign so many letters from lots of different Elves would be impossible, plus I would make a bungle and not get them consistent year after year, and the kids would get suspicious!

Another reason is ... each Elf writes in its own style, with its own style of drawing - just like in a book.  To have the letters all from the same Elf or Elves would be confusing.

Children receiving the same letters as their friends or cousins but see they're signed off from different Elves would find that very suspicious indeed! Many families have their letters addressed to their children and Elf too (if they have one). Children love that their Elf friends in the North Pole are writing to them too!

I hope that helps to explain - our Elf letters aren’t like any others on the market, and by focussing on high quality imaginative stories and handcrafted illustrations, we hope we bring a little bit of magic to each and every child who opens one!

One thing our Elves aren't concerned about is children's behaviour. We don't have a naughty or nice list as we believe that Father Christmas or Santa Claus ... and Christmas magic is for everyone.
