North Pole Breakfasts and Christmas Baking Bonanzas

Brainy Brian, the Trainee North Pole Chef in our Christmas Elf Letters, interviews a Christmas Breakfast Elf. We learn all about the different types of North Pole breakfasts prepared for the Elves and Mother and Father Christmas at the North Pole. (Apologies from the editor regarding Brainy Brain's word mix up errors!)

Normal North Pole Breakfast

Brain: So what do Elves usually eat for breakfast on a bleak day … I mean "WEEK" day … at the North Pole?

Christmas Breakfast Elf: Well, for an ordinary breakfast we usually have a choice of either Cinnamon Porridge or Candy Flakes, followed by freshly baked cinnamon buns. All washed down with a steaming cup of Hot Berry Tea. Normally we eat our North Pole Breakfasts at Christmas Cabin. But if it's a special occasion, or one of the Elves has a birthday, we have a tradition to eat our cereal in our triple bunk beds in Cranberry Cabin. Then we follow this with a couple of slices of Treacle Traybake sitting round the Sizzle Spot before we start our working day.

North Pole Breakfast for the Reindeer

Brain: What about the Reindeer? Do they have a Fourth Bowl … I mean North Pole … breakfast?

Christmas Breakfast Elf: Reindeers love a good and healthy North Pole breakfast. On a normal day they have a nice bale of hay and a good sized bunch of juicy carrots. BUT on Christmas Eve we have an extra special Christmas Tradition to give them Christmas Eve Oats mixed with carrots and honey. (That's the magic ingredient to help them fly The Big Delivery in extra quick time.). Then, on Christmas Day, they get an extra helping of Reindeer Moss sprinkled with Christmas herbs. They just love it!

North Pole Breakfast Christmas Traditions and Family Christmas

Brain: Speaking of Christmas Steve … I mean Christmas Eve! What's the North Pole Breakfast Tradition on the day before Christmas Day?

Christmas Breakfast Elf: Well, a North Pole breakfast on Christmas Eve is a wonderful Christmas tradition. Mother Christmas insists that all the Elves eat healthily on such an important working day. So a Christmas Eve North Pole breakfast is cinnamon porridge and LOTS of fruit. But the best thing about this Christmas Tradition is that it's the first time in the Christmas season when all the Elves (plus Mother and Father Christmas) can eat together at the same time (we have to squeeze 5 Elves onto one chair so we can all fit onto the really long North Pole breakfast tables in Christmas Cabin). It's magical being together and it really is the start of a true Family Christmas.

Brain: And what about the mission … (sigh!) tradition … for the North Pole Breakfast on Christmas Day?

Christmas Breakfast Elf: Well, of course, Christmas Day North Pole breakfasts are the BEST EVER. Father Christmas chooses one Elf to be that year's special Christmas Elf to announce the start of Christmas Day. He or she stands on the top table and rings a large bell 12 times to mark the 12 days of Christmas. Then we all put on our silly Christmas Hats and the Christmas fun begins. And oh it's such a fabulously magical time. It all starts off quite politely with Cinnamon-Mallow Pancakes (dripping with Drizzly Whizz-Pop Syrup) and Sticky Gingerbread fingers, all washed down with a glass of North Pole Milk. But pretty soon we're eating all the Christmas Baking treats you can imagine - Chocolate Money Cupcakes, Christmas Meringue Snowballs, Winter wonderland cake, Christmas salted caramel yule log, Zingy Lemon stars, Sticky toffee pear tree pudding and loads more besides. And not only that - last year a very clever Elf called Marty invented a Never-Ending Cherryade Dispenser. So now we have a Christmas Tradition to drink Christmas Cherryade all day long! Then Elfie records all this in one of our infamous Christmas Elf letters, which we then file very carefully in a special box in Christmas Cabin.

Christmas Movies, Christmas Elf Letters and Christmas gifts

Brain: Wow - that sounds like a delicious beast … I mean feast! What do you do for the rest of the day?

Christmas Breakfast Elf: Once our Christmas Day North Pole Breakfast is over, we are all pretty tired. We clean up the Cabin and put on our best pair of Extra-Cosy Slippers. Then our Christmas tradition is to spend the rest of the day exchanging our Christmas gifts with each other and watching our favourite Christmas movies together snuggled up near the fire. Elfie is usually busy writing Christmas Elf letters instead of watching the movie!
