Joggers don’t last so long in this house – our active, almost eight year old, can fly through the knees in a couple of weeks. So, rather than put them in the fabric recycling centre, I turn them into cool sporty shorts. So easy, so quick, and no measuring or sewing involved! The beauty of this fabric is you can get away with leaving cut edges raw, so no sewing necessary. The worst they look is when you’ve just cut them. After that, they tend to curl slightly and give you a more ‘finished’ look. So, no more throwing away, turn those joggers into shorts instead!

Adding some sew around the cutted part then scratching the loose fabric will make your short creative.
Love this and used to do it a lot and even made skirts out of jeans at uni. Fab post x
I used to do the trousers to skirt thing too! I ended up with some very alarming 80s outfits….argh!
This is my kind of project! No sewing is totally up my street. My boy is sprouting up so his trousers get too short before they are to small in the waist – I’ll be using this for him #brilliantblogposts
They really shoot up don’t they?? Our daughter was in some 12-18 month old trousers at aged 3-4 yrs, but as shorts. She stayed the same around the waist but developed long legs!
